During this 2-hour session, live models pose draped for short "gesture" as well as longer poses. This program is ideal for individuals interested in portrait painting, character design, illustration, animation, anatomical drawing, however ALL artists benefit from Life Drawing sessions.

Paper Mache Bowl Making Workshop 11:00am - 3:00pm | Bailey Contemporary Arts, 41 NE 1st Street

This four-hour workshop will introduce students to paper mache bowl making. Students familiar with the technique will get instruction to further their practice. Instructor will tailor technique based on the level of each student. The class includes all materials and no experience is necessary. Space available for 12 students. Ages 16+

Our critically acclaimed Lyrics Lab program is both a show and a showcase. Sit back, be inspired, motivated and moved by some of the area’s best spoken word and musical artists. Or step into the spotlight and let your voice be heard. Live music accompanies all performances. Beginners encouraged. Lyrics Lab is an artistic community and all are welcome! Trying new things has been proven to make you more creative, and it’s good for your brain. So each Wednesday we offer a new way to nourish your soul & get creative at The Bailey Contemporary Arts during your lunch hour…and it’s FREE!

No two weeks are the same as each new workshop offers a different creative experience and encourages you to step out of the mundane and explore your potential. Each simple, hands-on project becomes an escape from the daily stresses of life and reminds you how beauty can be found in even the most simplest of projects.

Guests are invited to bring their lunch, or grab a bite to eat from Blooming Bean Coffee Roasters, located in our West Gallery.

To ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to enjoy this program, seats will be available on a First-Come, First-Serve Basis, and Space Is Limited! However, even if our workshop reaches capacity, guests are able to explore the newest exhibits in our gallery, take the time to learn about upcoming programs, workshops, volunteer opportunities, and spend some time enjoying a coffee while unwinding in our West Gallery.

Gratitude and Joy Photography Juried Exhibition Opening Reception 6:00pm - 9:00pm | Bailey Contemporary Arts, 41 NE 1st Street

From tranquil waters to joyful dance movements, the images in this exhibition invite us to reflect on our memories of moments filled with joy and gratitude. Juried by Sharon Lee Hart, this exhibition features images by sixteen photographers that share their interpretations on joyful moments in a myriad of images that includes landscapes, portraits, animal photography, and long exposures.

About the Juror:
Sharon Lee Hart visually explores relationships between humans, other animals, and the natural world. Her work has been exhibited throughout the U.S. and internationally. Hart’s photographs are in several permanent collections, including The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. She maintains an active studio practice and is the Head of Photography and an Assistant Professor of Art at Florida Atlantic University.
